How the UN Plans to Govern for Generations to Come
Future generations lack political representation, constituting ‘shadow interests’ in our systems of governance. Ensuring their wellbeing may soon become a political concern.
We are joined by Dr. Anders Sandberg, a research fellow at Future of Humanity Institute (Oxford University) where he studies the far future, with emphasis on the ethical and societal aspects related to human enhancement and emerging technologies. An unapologetic transhumanist and cryonics proponent, Sandberg has faith in technology’s ability to push human evolution towards a “postbiological existence”. Yet the future he envisions is not without its risks. Sandberg belives there are good reasons to be very careful about artificial intelligence, which could pose an existential threat to humanity.
